Rev. Resa Elijah Wasson Inverness Reverend Resa Elijah Wasson, 98, retired Methodist minister, died Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Traceway Manor in Tupelo. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. service Tuesday at Inverness United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Attala County at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Boone-Card Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

He was born in the Shady Grove Community in Attala County, Miss. where he received his education and graduated from McAdams School. He attended Millsaps and later graduated from Delta State University. He received his license into the United Methodist Conference and ministered for 44 years. After retiring, he made his home in Inverness for the last 30 years.

Reverend Wasson is survived by daughters, Mary Dell Hubbard of Eupora and Elizabeth King of Inverness; son, Reverend Warren Wasson of Venice, Fla.; sisters, Opal Burleson of San Francisco, Calif., Hilda Walton of Kosciusko, and Linda Olerton of San Diego, Calif.; brothers, Alton Wasson, Billy Wasson, and Timothy Wasson, all of Kosciusko; eleven grand children, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.
