To the worshipful Court of Wake,
The Petition of Lucretia Robertson, widow and relict of Thomas Robertson deceased late of your county humbly showeth that your Petitioner's late husband died on or about the 19th day of February 1800 Intestate, that at the time thereof was possessed and seized of a body and tract of land adjoining the lands of John Robertson, William Arnold, Christopher Robertson, Herbert Robertson, Heirs of Mops Bunton and Robertson, containing by estimation one thousand acres, it being the Land and Plantation within your county whereon Your Petitioner's late husband last lived and died at; Your Petitioner further states that the Intestate at the time of his death was possessed of considerable personal estate Conn.... Negroes etc and at the time of his death had the following children living, to wit, Christopher, Elizabeth, now E. Horton, Herbert, Thomas, Mary, now M. Horton, John, Rebeccah, now R. Price, Needham, and Nancy, all of them are yet alive, that Christopher, Herbert, Elizabeth, John and Thomas have received considerable advancements in the lifetime of the testator. Your Petitioner therefor prays that her dower of a third of the aforesaid Lands and a childs part of the personal Estate of the said Intestate may be laid of and alltted to her agreeable to the Act of Assembly in such case made. And that the aforesaid Christopher, Elizabeth, Herbert, Thomas and John, may not be entitled to their share in the personal estate of Intestate unless they shall bring into common such estate so recieved as aforesaid in advancement, agreeable and in conformity to the Act of Assembly in such case and your Petitioner as in duty bound will pray so. 17 Aug 1807 Robert and Nancy Dunn, and Moses and Polly Horton, for $124 do sell to Needham Robertson 2/9ths of 333 and 1/3 acres. It being the land that was laid out and assigned to Lucretia Robertson for her dower of the lands of her husband Thomas Robertson, deceased, being our part of the dower which we the said Moses Horton, Polly Horton, Robert Dunn, & Nancy Dunn do warrant the right of title of the said land unto Needham Robertson. Deed Book U page 167.

Thomas Robertson is in DAR Patriot Index also listing wife Lucrectia. See "Linage Book Nat'l Society of DAR vol68 p 350 "Thomas Robertson 1740-1801 served as pvt in Capt Dixon's company, N C troops. He was born in Richmond,Henrico, VA died in Wake Co. NC" Lists Thomas' wife as Lucretia." See also AFN. Thomas with Family moved from Virg to Orange co NC abt 1750, in 1771 his part of Orange co became Wake co NC. SLC bk 975.655 H2h item 699 "Wake Co. Heritage, NC".

Lucretia TEMPLE, daughter of William & Elizabeth (CHAMBLISS)TEMPLE, JR. was born Sept 16, 1744. christening: 11 Nov 1744 Bristol Parish, Prince George, VA. Confirmed in the Bristol Parish Register.

Nancy's being much younger than the other children suggests they were by a first wife, and that Nancy's mother Lucretia might have been Thomas's second wife.
