Will of Lucy Dunn, dated 7 Feb 1826, gives in trust to my son Hardeman Dunn the tract of land given to me by my husband, Hardiman Dunn, deceased, also the tract of land which I have lately purchased from William Fowler, both lying on Little River, and adjoining the lands of John P. Strictland and others in the county of Wake, and state of North Carolina and containing 170 acres more or less for the use and benefit of my son Robert Dunn during his natural life and at his death I give and bequeath the said land to the children of my said son Robert Dunn. Also gives to Hardiman Dunn in trust for the use of Robert Dunn during his natural life, negro girl named Dicey, and at the death of Robert Dunn with the increase to the children of Robert Dunn. Also gives to Hardiman Dunn in trust for the use of Robert Dunn during his natural life, 1 sorrel horse, 10 head of cattle,13 head of hogs, six head of sheep, two bedsteads and furniture, at the death of Robert, to the children of Robert. All other property of which I may die possessed, shall be sold and the proceeds to be divided between my four sons, Benjamin, John, Bolling, and Hardiman Dunn. Hardiman Dunn appointed executor. Raleigh Register of June 2 1826 reported the death of Mrs Hariman Dunn May 29, Wake Co.

Will of Hardeman Dunn, dated 20 Oct 1822, In the name of God Amen, this 201h day of Oct 1822 being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertain state of transitory life and that all flesh must yield to death when it shall please God to call, do make, constitute ordain and declare this my last will and testament in manner & form following revoking and annulling by these presents all and every testament nd sentiments Will and wills heretofore by me made and declared either by word or writing and this to be taken for my last will and testament and no other. Item first, I give to my beloved wife, Lucy Dunn, during her natural life, the plantation whereon I now live. I give to my beloved wife Lucy Dunn, all the stock of Horses, Hogs, Cattle and Sheep, Plantation utensils, House Hold and Kitchen Furniture. I also give to my beloved wife Lucy Dunn, one negro woman by the name of Deley. I also lend to my beloved wife Lucy Dunn during her natural life, the following negro slaves: Will, Liner, Absolam, and Milly. I give to my son Hardyman Dunn, the plantation where I now live, containing 200 acres, more or less, at the death of my wife Lucy Dunn. I give to my two daughters, Nancy Dunn and Candace Dunn the following negro slave: Major, Cate, and Fenner, Henderson, Burges and Ruffin and their increase to be equally divided between them. I also give to my daughters Nancy Dunn and Candace Dunn each of the one feather bed and furniture, 1 cow and calf. I give to my beloved wife Lucy Dunn 70 acres of land more or less lying on Little River, adjoinging John P. Strickland and others. I give to my son John Dunn one half of the griss mill that appertains to me and all appertenances thereon belonging after the death of my wife Lucy Dunn. I also give to my beloved wife Lucy Dunn, one other negro woman by the name of Easter and my will is tht my wife Lucy Dunn will hire out from year to year the said woman Easter and the proceeds of the hire to be given unto my son Robert Dunn during his and his wife Nancy Dunn natural life and at the death of my son Robert and his wife Nancy, the woman Easter and her increase be sold and the proceeds be equally divided between the living children of Robert Dunn. I give unto my son Hardyman Dunn, one negro by the name of Betty and her three children, Clancy, Liner, and Mary and their increase. I give unto my grand daughter Polly Smith, $250 to be raised out of my estate, and my will is that my executors lay out the said $250 in purchasing a negro boy or negro girl which I give to her. At the death of my wife Lucy Dunn all my estate not other wise disposed of be equally divided between the following children: my son Benjamin Dunn, my son John Dunn, my son Bolling Dunn. Lucy Dunn and John Dunn appointed executors.
