Assuming Lewis was really born in GA before the census. I can account
for him in the first category Elam W. in the second and Wm M in the
50-60. That leaves three extra boys 2 under 5 and one 15-20 and in the
girls, Susan should be under 5, Elizabeth 10-15,  Jane and Helen Mary
should be 15-20, Margaret 30-40 , leaving us with two extras.  Perhaps
a young widowed brother/nephew/cousin or that unknown boy from the 1830
census was staying with them at the time, along with his 2 sons
and 2 daughters.

William M. Hobbs served in the War of 1812. He elisted in Waynesboro in
1813 for the term of the war, was a Private in company commanded by Capt Thomas Forth and lter by Capt Stephen W. Blount, in the regiment commanded
by Col. Few in the brigade of Brig Gen Floyd. He was honorably discharged
at Waynesboro, GA 5 Mar 1815. He applied for bounty land for his service.
Waynesboro is in Burke County, Georgia.

Putnam Co. GA Deed Book J Page 71 dated 23 Feb 1821, William Hobbs sold
the part of the real estate of Samuel Cox, deceased, that Margaret Cox,
now Margaret Hobbs inherited from her father to Sophia Daniel for the
sum of $200.

William M. Hobbs bought NW Q of Section 32 Twp 11 R 8 E from
Ben C Earle and Selena A. Earle, his wife on 23 Jun 1857.
On 18 Jan 1861, William M. Hobbs and his wife Margaret sold
NW Q of Section 32 Twp 11 R 8 E to Elam Hobbs, Lewis L. Hobbs,
William H. Hobbs and Benjamin B. Hobbs, retaining a life interest
in it.
On 27 Sep 1867, Benjamin D. Hobbs, his wife Nancy Hobbs, and his
mother Margaret Hobbs sold to Hewett H. Hester, NW q of Section
32 Twp 11 R 8 E. All three documents are recorded at the Monroe
Co. MS courthouse.

State of Mississippi Itawamba County; On this the 21st day of May 1863 before the Subscriber one of the justices of the peace in and for said county and state personally appeared Margret Hobbs and maid (made) oath on the holy Evangelist of almight God that said Margret Hobbs is the mother of William H. H. Hobbs dec'd late a private of Capt. Thomas Coopwood's company (L) 24th Regiment Mississippi Volunteers and that her said son died without leaving widow child or father, and she is therefore (? ?) entitled to the arrears of pay that may be due him from the confederate states and also appeared at the same time J A M Devall witness and maid oath as aforesaid that he knows the son, and the facts sworn to by her are true and he is disinterested there in.
