Billie Nell Shelton Adamson Birth: Sep. 23, 1920 Foreman, Little River County, Arkansas, USA Death: Dec. 4, 2010 Texas, USA

Billie Nell Shelton Adamson September 23, 1920 - December 4, 2010 "She fought a good fight, she finished her course. She kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

Billie was born 90 years ago in Foreman, Arkansas and married Roger Mack Adamson on November 20, 1938. They were married for 49 years before he passed away on January 10, 1988. Both Billie and Roger worked for many years in public education in several Texas cities: Hempstead, Huntsville, Port Arthur, Beasley and Weimar before eventually retiring in Mexia. Billie will be remembered for her compassionate nature, her spiritual support to those in need, and the positive and encouraging way she led her life. She was truly a living example of the Fruits of the Spirit. Billie Adamson is survived by: sister, Lou Crews of Arden, Arkansas; children, Adelaide Adamson, Fayetteville, Arkansas and Roland C. Adamson, and his wife, Judy Adamson, Richmond, Texas; grandchildren, Adam L. Brown of Fort Worth, Texas, Alyson Thornton of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Stacy Lamons of Birmingham, Alabama, and Roger E. Adamson of New Orleans, Louisiana; Great grandchildren, Amanda Boxley of Conway, Arkansas, Jesse Brown USAF, Aaron Thornton, US Army, Nikki and Emma Thornton of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Valentina Lamons of Birmingham, Alabama, and Avery and Austin Adamson of New Orleans, Louisiana; great great grandchildren are Mya, Allison and Alexandra Boxley of Conway, Arkansas. The family wishes to thank the staffs at LaRoche and Tiaden units at Kruse Lutheran Village, Brenham, Texas and also Hospice Brazos Valley. They brought peace and comfort to Mimi in her final days.

A visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from noon-2PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Mexia, Texas and the service will follow there at 2PM. Billie loved her church where she served as an elder, adult Sunday School teacher and a choir member. The rite of committal and interment will follow at the Mexia City Cemetery.
