Trent Resident 34 Years Succumbs

TRENT, Feb. 11--(Spl.)--Mrs. W. A. Abbott, 67, resident of Trent 34 years, died at her home Friday afternoon. Funeral arrangements, indefinite pending arrival of children, probably will be held Tuesday at the Trent Baptist church with the pastor, The Rev. Young, officiating.

Mrs. Abbott was born March 6, 1872 at Forney and resided all her life in Texas.

Survivors are six sons and a daughter. They are Frank, William (Wilburn), Jimmy, Walter and William Abbott of California, Joe Abbott of Arizona and Mrs. R. W. McLeod of Merkel. Eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

Barrow Funeral Home, Merkel, is in charge of arrangements.

THE LAMPASAS LEADER
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2 1904

W. L. Abbott Dead.
From Tuesday's Daily Leader.

Messages were received here this morning saying that Mr. W. L. Abbott had
died at his home in Hillsboro, and that the body would be brought here for
interment in the city cemetery. Mr. Abbott was for many years a citizen of
Lampasas, but left here something more than ten years ago, and for a time
lived at Beeville, later going to Hill county, where he has since resided.
He married a sister of Mr. H. P. Edwards, sr., and she died at Beeville
some years since and was buried here. They had no children, but raised a
number of orphans, some of whom are now of the most repsected citizens of
this state. Mr. Abbott was a member of the Methodist church, a Mason and
an excellent man. His burial will take place tomorrow at 10 o'clock and
will be conducted by the local Masonic lodge.
