From an unnamed and undated article located in the Lamar County Genealogical Society Library, in the Taylor Collection, Box S: 'Ernest C. Smith, 409 E. Washington died at his home Tuesday, May 10, at 4:40 p.m. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday May 12, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddy Johnston of Ramseur Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born July 27, 1907, in Holland, TX, a son of E. J. Smith and Lillie Mae Allen Smith. He attended Holland and Paris schools and married Anna McHam on Oct. 30, 1926. In 1940, he began work for the Paris and Mount Pleasant Railroad as a conductor and worked there until 1956. He moved to Dallas and worked as a manager for Southland Corp.' 7-11 stores until 1972 when he retired and moved back to Paris. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and of Ramseur Baptist Church and its Berean Sunday School Class. Surviving are his wife; one son, Charles L. Smith of Tyler; five grandchildren, Rhonda Smith of Sugarland and Renee Wilson, Ronald Smith, Randy Smith and Roger Smith, all of Tyler; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Boace M. Nelson, Clyde Rhodes, L.H. Scott, Jesse Daniels, Carl Foster, and James (Buddy) Nash.'

ANNA MAE SMITH, 102, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 in Tyler. Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 10, 2011 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with burial to follow in Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
She was born on Dec. 26, 1908, in Pattonville to the late John Leslie and Mary Helen Day McHam. She was a teacher, retail clerk and homemaker, She was a member of Ramseur Baptist Church and had been a resident of Tyler since 1996. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. Smith; sons Charles Leslie Smith and Ernest Wayne Smith; and a great-grandson, Sean Smith.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Rhonda Smith of Tomball and Renee' Wilson of Tomball; grandsons, Ronny Smith of Joshua, Randy Smith and wife Judy of Arp, Roger Smith of Brownsboro; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Scritchfield, Cory Smith, Kevin Smith, Lacy Smith, Chad Wilson, Chase Wilson, Lesley Smith and Haley Smith; and great-great-grandchildren, Stacia Scritchfield, Brean Scritchfield, Jazmin Scritchfield, Charles Wilson, Cason Wilson, Hadley Wilson, Hannah Wilson, Madison Smith and Laney Smith.
