LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, April 23, 1987..

Florence E. McLeod Corder, 91, widow of Andrew Jackson Corder,
241-20th NE, died at McCuistion Regional Medical Center at
3:14 p.m. Sunday, April 19.

Services were Tuesday, April 21, at Fry & Gibbs Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating with burial
in Knights of Honor Cemetery in Blossom.

She was born in the Ambia community of Lamar County, a
daughter of Alva F. McLeod and Mattie Nora Terrell McLeod. She
received a teaching certificate from East Texas State Teachers
College and taught school at the Byrdtown school. She had
lived in Paris for 25 years and was a longtime member of East
Paris Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul Corder in 1978.

Surviving are 2 sons, A.B. Corder of Paris and Hunt Corder of
Fort Worth; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters,
Maude Bailey of Paris and Lucille Richards of Paris.

Corder, 84 died Monday, Nov. 15 at her home in Rockdale.
Funeral service were held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the
Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev.
John Warren of St. John's United Methodist Church
officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Lawn Cemetery
in Rockdale. Mrs. Corder was born May 1, 1920 in
Chriesman to Eugene G. and Katie B. (Standard) Godwin.
She married Robert Houghton "Nig" Drummond on July 13,
1940 in Rockdale then later married Ibra Eugene Corder
on Nov. 10, 1949 in Rockdale. She was preceded in death
by her first husband, Robert H. "Nig" Drummond on April 8,
1947; second husband, Ibra E. Corder on March 19, 1985;
parents; brother, Roy L. Godwin; sister, Eula M. Hill.
Mrs. Corder retired as dispatcher from Rockdale Police
Department in 1985. She attended St. John's United
Methodist Church in Rockdale. Survivors include three
sons, Robert W. Drummond and wife Rose of Conroe, Donny
Drummond and wife Charlotte of Spring, Jimmy Drummond and
wife Margaret of Houston; daughter, Gladys Skubal and
husband Mark of Rockdale; brother, Weldon E. Godwin of
Sheridan, Wyoming; two sisters, Nadine Yoakum of Rockdale,
Gladys M. Spell of Houston; special friend, D'Lynn
Thompson of Rockdale; eight grandchildren, Robert Drummond
Jr., Robin Clayton, Christopher Drummond, Cheryl Drummond,
Jimmy Drummond Jr., Heath Drummond, Jacob Skubal, Meagan
Skubal; also, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-
grandchildren. Pallbearers were Christopher Drummond,
Jimmy Drummond Jr., Heath Drummond, Robert Drummond Jr.,
Jacob Skubal, Graham Spell.
